Jesse Lingard was give the opportunity by Ralph Rangnick to start his first Premier League game of the season in Manchester United’s clash with Leeds United.
Rangnick has made three adjustments to Manchester United from their last ufabet game at Old Trafford. A 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in midweek.
Aqba and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are back in action again. Lingard, who replaces Anthony Elanga, is his first Premier League start of the 2021-22 season after returning from two other seasons on loan with West Ham United.
Ba Tan Fred and Wan-Bissaka beat Diogo Dalot to drop as a substitute. For the real eleven, consisting of David de Gea, down in the defense, Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw. The middle pair Pogba and Scott McTominay, Lingard, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is an opportunity for Lingard to remind Rangnick. What he can do and he looks set to play in one of the two wide areas.
Jadon Sancho has doing better on the left lately so it seems more likely Lingard will play on the right. And that means it is a new-look right flank for Rangnick today.
There is also an element of rotation likely here with Atletico Madrid coming up in just four days time and it is to be hoped that Lingard takes his chance well.
